Procrastinating in New York

CP, Beckeye, Chelene and Write Procrastinator taking Manhattan by storm

I have to get up early and hop on a plane tomorrow morning, so I won't have time to impart fully the delight Poor George and I had in meeting three new Blogger friends this evening. But I didn't want to pass up the opportunity to make a quick post about this wonderful experience.

Earlier this week I received an invitation from our friend Write Procrastinator who was in town to celebrate the golden anniversary of his in-laws. At the friendly urging of WP, Poor George and I joined him along with Ms. Procrastinator, Procrastinator Junior, Chelene of Bliss & Bile, and Beckeye of The Pop Eye for a sumptuous dinner at one of New York City's landmark restaurants, Carmine's.

I thought I had been granted all the happiness possible in already having met the incomparable Dale, the stunning Hapabukbuk and the love of my life, Wonderturtle. And now these three step in to illustrate further the amazing connections many of us have been able to establish through our writing.

Not to mention that there are now three more people in the world who know how much better I am on paper!

Lovingly Bloggerish,
CP

CP: love that tag. Isn't it every blogger's secret fear that they're less fun in person?

I'm sure its all in your head

You are not boring! I had a great time meeting you all. Looking forward to Sunday.

Oh...I'm nearly jealous! Sounds like you had a blast tho...good for you guys!

If we ever meet, you'll be disappointed with me too...for I speak much more like I do at jintrinsique in person than I do at unplugged.
HA!

Awesome! I always endorse meeting bloggers in person. It's always been a positive experience for me.

Me too, though I've only ever met Chris so far. Hopefully I will meet more in Chicago, October 20. ::hint, hint::

Well I met one blogger in person our lovely Ms Jin and loved every minute of it and not just because she let me pick out all the yummy desserts my heart desired. Grumpy and I may come to visit NYC this fall after I am done with school if we do maybe we get to meet too.

Coaster Punchman is kind of boring in person but poor George makes up for it all, he's charming, vivacious and a wonderful wit. Alright, they both are. Sounds like a fantastic time! It's an amazing thing to meet people who you've admired on paper only to realize that they're even more fun in real life.

Hey! You stole my bloggers from behind photo idea! I'm suing.

I can see a really fun kind of one-upsmanship becoming popular: who gets to meet the most fellow bloggers. Not counting bloggers I'm related to, I'm only up to 7, and they've all been lovely.

It looks like Shy Avatar virus has somehow mutated into Shy Blogger Backside Virus.

I want to be the one blogger no one ever gets to meet in real life. The J.D. Salinger of the blogosphere.

Dale,

"Hey! You stole my bloggers from behind photo idea! I'm suing."

Um, the Ill-resident Shrub said during his first term, that we Americans don't have recognize any foreign laws that we don't want to ; P

Coaster,

Thank you all for being so patient while I spent seven minutes at a time, trying to find appropriate and concise words. The Missus thinks you are all the best, but Procrastinator Junior says that Poor George is the absolute best and that he's even funnier than Letterman.

Thank you all for an experience to be remembered.

How fun! One of my biggest fears is that I'm much more interesting on my blog than I am in real life.

Awesome! I started reading Beckeye thanks to posts on your blog as well as Cup of Coffey. I've just took my first look at Write Procrastinator and Bliss & Bile; you're network central.

...monitor. You know what I meant.

*sigh*

New York really is the center of the universe. I'm so jealous ........

I beg to differ CP. Boring is not an adjective I'd use to describe you at all! I'm not sure I'd accept stunning as an adjective to describe myself either so you are definitely batting zero in the description department. ;) Shall we meet again to reassess?

I could feel the jealous bile rising in my throat until you got to describing me. Self-deprecating and worshipful, that's how I love my crushes!

I'll take the 20 dollar salad and a glass of water. Wow, that menu brings back memories of a 12 dollar martini I had in the theater district. Of course it was the best martini I ever had! I think its so cool you met some bloggers. Did I tell you I'm only a 45 minute train ride away from NYC?

If only we could edit our lives, we'd all be so much better.

Beth, you're right, NYC is the center of the universe and the center of NYC is 1st Ave and 1st Street. Typically, there is a lemonade stand there.

Cup said...

Eebie, next time I'm there (hopefully this fall!), I'll buy you a lemonade at 1st and 1st.

The other version of the event is posted and I categorically deny everything that was written by someone posing as me.

I'm so envious of bloggers who get to meet each other. I hereby declare that one of my life's goals is to have dinner with both CP and Dale before I die. Or lunch. Lunch would be awesome, too.
