Please help fight the bigots in California!

UPDATE! See Mindy June's blog for an important post on this topic!

Gentle Readers,

It breaks my heart that this is happening. Right wingers are just so bent on hurting gay people that they are going out of their way to try to solidify their bigotry and hatred right into California's state constitution by eliminating the newly-acquired right of same-sex couples to marry.

I have been watching the TV commercials the right wingers have paid for and they SICKEN me. Scare tactics that all hell will break loose if the fags & dykes continue to marry. Messages that we are forcing our lifestyle on the schools and children, etc. It makes me so mad I want to kill someone.

What really burns me is that something like this does NOTHING AT ALL to help them. Nothing, that is aside from quenching their thirst to do harm to others for no good reason.

IF YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO LIVES IN CALIFORNIA, PLEASE TALK TO THEM ABOUT THIS BEFORE THE ELECTION AND CONVINCE THEM TO VOTE "NO" ON PROPOSITION 8!

You can also click here to learn more and to donate!

Thank you, Gentle Readers.

Love,

CP

Hmmmm. I think perhaps you've found an even better way to show them what's right.

I wish I had some kind of political pull in California, but I can't convince the guy across the street that the Republicans have hamstrung us, so I'm not going to be of much use.

I've said it before and I will say it again, that there is no reason whatsoever that you and Poor George shouldn't enjoy the benefits that Flannery and I do. The two of you are partners in the success or failure of this venture, and should be rewarded by the same benefits or penalties. If the two of you started a business, you would both be accountable for the books. I can not see where there is any diffence. Why wouldn't they want to increase the amount of contracts made? Wouldn't this increase the amount of responsible citizens who pay taxes and contribute to the community and gift them with more than they would have had before? Wouldn't this benefit a lot of people who contribute to the betterment of those around them and acknowledge them with an equal statis that is guarenteed by the Constitution? Unless my memory is faulty, this promises equal rights regardless of race, color or CREED. No one can be slighted on this matter. We must live up to the beliefs we espouse and this is one we need to own up to.

I can only hope that your fellow voters see it the same way.

Have a taco and hope for the best, and vote. I do.

CP, I understand our pals the Mormons are pumping lots of money into the effort to pass it. Assholes. My brother lives in CA and is definitely voting no.

Since I can't vote, I'll donate!

I don't understand the sanctity of marriage argument. If Christians are so concerned about said sanctity, why aren't they fighting shows such as "The Bachelor"? A minister here in Atlanta was recently divorced (he alleged beat his ex-wife), so he's going to have a reality show to pick his next wife.

Beth, are you KIDDING me with this?

Some Guy, of COURSE - we always have the flippin' Mormons to thank for things like this.

Thanks everyone!

Hmmm... I'm wondering if we can pull some internet strings here and get some of us non-CA people to be sent absentee ballots...??

Maybe we can get Bubs to hack into CA's BMV computers and change all our addresses to somewhere in CA, then ballot box stuff the issue down??

I don't understand Morons-- I MEAN, Mormons-- at all: Joe Smith digs up some plates and says that they came from Native American Jews, and he translates them from behind a bedsheet and wears special underwear to bed?? THIS is supposedly the fastest growing faith in the USA??

Whole thing disgusts me, franklee...

Congrats!!! So I guess you're registered at Lowe's or Home Depot, considering you have a "fixer-upper".

Good luck! Tina

I'd like to start a new political party. It would be called the "My Personal Life is None of Your Fucking Business" party. What do you think? Will it fly?

Beth, that is such a great riposte. CP, it's hard to believe we are living in the 21st century.
