Moving time!

Home at last!

Gentle Readers,

The news is that Poor George and I are moving ---- to San Diego! I leave NYC on Saturday, October 4. I am flying. I am also taking Mama Gin along to the airport so that I can deposit her on a plane out to San Francisco before heading to my own gate to fly to San Diego.

That's right, we will FINALLY be rid of Mama Gin! Although I regret that this will mark the end of The Mama Gin Files. I hope you will still check in at CPW occasionally, even though my blog will subsequently prove far less interesting. Maybe I'll have a crazy neighbor or something although Dale already has a stranglehold on that genre.

PG and I bought a charming craftsman bungalow in a great neighborhood. Let us know if you are ever in the area and we can meet up. I will be there alone for a while since PG needs to stay behind to clean up after Mama Gin and sell the NYC house. Wish him luck.

Love,
CP

While I am heartbroken that the Mama Gin Files have come to an end, I am thrilled for you two crazy kids! Good luck with the move and keep us posted.

Since you're flying out, I guess that means no stop in fly-over country for a night of Tiki and hottubbing...

Maybe your couch could stop by on it's journey to Cali?

Oh no! I mean, congratulations! We have to get together before you leave our unfair city.

I'm glad for you, but sad for your readers;) We'll all miss MG. Maybe you can hook her up with a blog and a web cam.

I can just picture the podcasts....a black screen with audio such as, "This thing no worky worky".

Sigh.

Great looking house but who are those two weirdos in front of it?! Good luck with all the craziness involved in moving. Couldn't you have moved into some sort of Three's Company complex and just had Mama Gin play Furley or Mrs. Roper?

Aww! Look at you two at your new place. How adorable.

Well, you know, I'll be living on the West Coast in about a year. We could totally double date or something!!

Good luck on the move! We're moving in a couple of weeks as well, but only to a different house here in town. As luck would have it we've got room for Mama Gin but since you've got a place for her in SF we'll give her room to someone else.

WOW! Who knew that was coming??? You'll have plenty of stories to tell I'm sure... and I'll be here to read them.

Good Luck in selling the NY place!!!

Holy smokes! Congratulations on your new home and job! Your new neighbors must be thrilled that the gays have moved in and increased their property values just by your very presence.
What will become of Mama Gin? Is there another child she can torment?

Congratulations! That is so exciting! Wow, I can't believe that you're rid of Mama Gin at the same time. Can we install some hidden cameras in her new digs??

Awesome! Congrats! What part of SD are you in?

WOW!! Good for you guys!! May you live happily ever after. You couldn't have picked a better climate. My daughter just moved back from San Diego and has spent the last two months trying to convince me to move out there with her. She absolutely loved it out there, just couldn't afford it. LOVE the house!

I will miss the gin files :-(

While I am sad to see you leave NYC, I am thrilled that you are finally going back to SoCal, as I know you greatly prefer the weather etc.

Glad I made it to New York this summer too. It would have been a shame not to have had that night at Coney Island.

Looking forward to couch surfing in California next summer!

Wow! Quite a change in weather!!!

And with housing prices in San Diego, I hope your sticker shock was not too bad.

Good luck and I'm with others that say let's buy a web-cam to follow Mama Gin.

where is this place? It looks exactly like a house I rented years ago in North Park on 30th Street.
(BTW I'm a friend of Martin's in case you're wondering)

That bungalow looks perfect, and you guys look wonderful standing in front of it!

Bon voyage!

In my experience people like Mama Gin always manage to re-incarnate in one form or another.

Congratulations. I hear the weather in SD beats the crap out of the weather in NYC

Okay, so when's the wedding?

Because that's pretty damn cool, dude!

Awesome house! Just got back from Santa Barbara and it was beautiful. Good luck with the move and selling the old home. Congratulations!

WOW! What a post!
SD is perfection weather-wise. Eat at Sante's in La Jolla or the place with the upper-level outdoor dining spot, the name escapes me.

Congratulations, and you'd better post wedding photos!

I will surely miss Mama Gin, and so will my kids. She's an icon.

I'm beside myself with grief about the end of The Mama Gin Files - she will come for a visit at least, right?!

Enjoy your new home, you crazy kids. You can now brag that you are Coaster Punchman: Coast to Coast. That's pretty impressive. I already envy the great tan you are going to have, you devil.

So... you're moving to paradise, and have rid yourself of Mama Gin. Did you sell your soul to the devil? Sacrifice your first born? Win the lottery?

Dear gentle readers:

The mama gin ain't goin' down easy. She is driving us crazy and being a total stubborn pain in the ash. Please help me with incantations, spells, prayers, poison and birth control... though none of these has proven to have worked before.

Love the city, love the house. I'm sure you two crazy kids (and cats) will come up with new entertaining adventures.

Holy cow. Out of NYC? Such a shame. But now San Diego sounds much more fun.

Well, now I have to figure out how to make sure the animals are cared for and save up the dough to go visit both Mike and you two! I'm glad you'll be where you are happy, in your cute little house.
