Just taking a quick poll

Is anyone else as lucky as I am? Does anyone else have a Poor George to make you homemade chicken soup when you have a cold?

Cough. Sniffle.

Awww...that looks good. You're lucky to have a Poor George.

I have a long-suffering and saintly MizBubs who's good for soup and whiskey when I'm feeling poorly.

All I have is Poor Me. I make a hell of a homemade soup though.

George seems like such a nice guy! Does he have a blog?

You're right, Bubs. And you sound lucky to have a MizBubs.

Loving yourself is the most important of all, Bluez. Just like Whitney sang.

You have to come over to CPW for all the Poor George news, Turtle. And yes, he is a nice guy, though he can be snarky if you piss him off.

I do not have a Poor George, but I do have a BF who makes great soup and who has been known to fill up a container or two for me when I am feeling poorly. Otherwise I have to make my own.

Ahhh... yes. George is a keeper.

Man, that looks good. Almost motivates me to get off the sofa and go cook something. Almost.

Feel better soon! That chicken soup looks like it would cure almost any illness. Lucky you.

Coaster Punchman said...

Is that BF or BFF Lu? I would assume you were talking about Jane - that sounds like her.

Yes Eebie, he is. I recommend you get one. Maybe with boobs though.

Well PFS, it almost motivated me to get off the couch. Except that he also brought it to me.

It does Ten-S. In fact, I am almost cured already. That + Oscillococcinum is the trick for colds in my book.

Good Looking Chicken Soup there fella! Mmmm-mmm-mmm. I love to make chicken soup, with a whole chicken. Just thought I would stop by and let you know that Company Bitch has gone semi-private. One has to register to read her blog now.

Hope you feel better soon.

grumpy is pretty good about keeping me hydrated when sick.

If only it were veggie chicken!

I don't have a Poor George but my Mom is always ready to make me a pot of chicken soup on a minute's notice. Does that count?

Ok...2 things to tell you that have nothing to do with your post. LOL!

(I know you won't mind! ;-)

I have been stalking this blog from the start & finally decided to link him...I have no idea why I waited so long. (Maybe I don't share very well?! ;-) I remember you mentioning you like *listening* to people eat over the phone...well, this guy just takes videos of everything he eats. All the time. You'll LOVE it! I'm addicted. Enjoy!

This AM I made D toast for breakfast. I gave him the jar of organic raspberry preserves next to his plate with a tiny jam spoon inside the preserves. He had a knife at the side of his toast. I watched him ever so closely as he used the knife for the buttering of his toast, immediately took the spoon out of the jam, set it on the table & proceeded to stick his butter covered knife into the fresh jar of preserves.
Repeatedly.
Woe is jin.

Wow Old Lady, thanks for the CB update. I'm definitely not reading her now.

Good thing Dino, hydration is crucial.

Yeah Grant, and next we'll be having Tofurkey.

Creepy, makes sense - I'm pretty sure you have a Jewish mother, right?

Jin, on accounta it's 1:38 am, I can't check out his blog right this second. But I will think of nothing else until I am able to take a look. Also, I'm so happy my earlier stories made an impression on you! More than one person has told me I'm kind of a jerk for being so judgmental about the egg fork in the jam story. Blech. Now why David did that when he already had a jam-dedicated spoon there is beyond me. Probably for the same reason he doesn't know how to shovel a driveway properly.

I'm the soup maker in the spot household. I make a wicked chicken and farfale soup, if I do say so myself. And I just did.

Did you see that article on the front page of the New York Times about all the Chinese girls who have been adopted by Jewish families doing their bat mitzvah's?

My friend Ellen, who is Jewish, always calls Chinese take-out "Jewish Soul Food."

May I borrow George in early April? I see a major cold or flu headed my way.

Coaster Punchman said...

I'm all for high self esteem, Deadspot. Good for you.

Johnny, thanks for the head's up on the NYT article. I cannot wait to find it and show it to Poor George, who will likely read it with a mix of amusement and horror.

I suppose, Beth. Hey, we didn't see you last night at the R&R Hall of Fame induction with your boyfriends. Patti Smith is not much of a looker these days, is she?

Was it wise to put the nice soup so close to the minimeal? I hope you're feeling better.

GrizzBabe said...

That soup looks delicious. Are there any leftovers?

Coaster Punchman said...

You're funny Dale. I didn't know what "minimeal" you were talking about at first.

The soup has morphed into a cauliflower potage Grizzbabe, and yes, there are leftovers.

For all concerned, the picture is an Internet stock photo and does not depict Poor George's actual soup. Our digital camera is still busted so I have to improvise.

I'm pretty lucky too.

Oooh, tell us of your luck, Wonderturtle.

He is, Katie. He is.
