Mormon Wednesdays

Echo has Stalker Fridays. Tenacious S has Songs from the Confessional on Sundays. I decided that CPW needs an equally important weekly feature.

Introducing Mormon Wednesdays! For all my fellow Mormon watchers.

Coaster Punchman's World must do its part to educate the world as to the dangers of Celestial Underwear and creepy Masonic-like temple rites.

Tune in each week* for another good old fashioned Mormon installment!

*At CPW "week" sometimes means "six months"

Well...I'm not sure what to say...frankly, I'm not certain if my reaction is the result of the medication, lack of sleep, fever or what...did I really just see that? Or have I gone all Hunter S Thompson here???

I'm truly frightened now. I'm leaning towards Hunter S...

ummm......so was that like a John Water's movie about Mormons? Did someone (Ten.S.? echo?) slip me some bad over the counter cold meds? I'm so confused right now.

Maybe Mindy June & I should have just reserved this nugget of Mormon porn for private viewing.

But didn't you like how she made the Mormons empty her garbage & change the cat litter?

Will you guys shoot my remains out of a cannon built by Johnny Depp in about 30 years?? Heh. Johnny Depp. Arrrggghh.... shit, pirate week is over... OMG, did I say that out loud???

I agree with lulu...I thought for sure that had John Waters written ALL over it!!! Oh...wait, maybe not...then we would have seen him whip out a penis with a rubber chicken tied to it.

Amen, Brother Thomas!

My lawn needs mowing. Maybe I'll find me some Mormons!

did you see this one, CP? American Idol and mormons... or at least, citizens of Utah...

Jin, I can assure you there is probably some Mormon temple rite involving the activities you describe. We just need someone to go undercover and get a Temple Recommend so we can know for sure!

Min, we will need to schedule some Mormon time for when you're here. There is a new visitor's center we should check out.

Echo, I am glad that you are now becoming aware of these dangerous perverts, the Mormons. We must work diligently to rid cyberspace of these misguided folk, who incindentally have no souls. Much like Gingers.

Am I going to get flagged for promoting hate speech?

lulu said...

by "Gingers" are you referring to those of us who have red hair? Does it matter if the red hair is self-inflicted?

echo said...

I think CP is referring to grantmiller who's obsessed with matching his carpet with his drapes...grant miller also lacks a soul which also supports my theory...

May I recommend Under the Banner of Heaven for your next Mormon Wednesday?

I read it, I believe at Lu's recommendation. Reading about the true history of Joseph Smith was the best part. He was a known charlatan, and then he invented this new religion that people flocked to. Some people get all the good ideas. Damn!cpu

I'm thinking of starting the Church of Latter Day Echoes... They've got the Saints? We've got the Echoes. They call themselves Mormons...we call ourselves more-or-less-mons. They become missionaries...I'm not even going to say it as it's way too easy...

I'll sign up! I'll wear holy underwear, but I won't give you 10% of my money.

echo said...

fuck... half the point of religion is to take your money... They've got the elders... we've got the box elders...

Okay, since you are all experts, I have a question! Are the situations portrayed on "Big Love" regarding "compound" life correct?

Coaster Punchman said...

According to the book "Under the Banner of Heaven," it sounds about right. Remember, the people portrayed in that show are the breakaway, fundamentalist Mormons that the mainstream "church" has rejected because of their (even more) radical beliefs. They are also outlaws because of the multiple wives thing. So their options for living within society are not many.

I know this woman. If she were Chinese, I would think I had baptized her myself.

Wow Dom, thanks for stopping by. So were you born a Mormon, or were you yourself converted?
